Harry Potter - Daily Prophet
Inspired by a movie? Of course I'm going to jump straight to Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings (hmm.. I wonder what my inspired by a book will be themed to? :D). For my sisters 30th birthday I printed out A3 posters of The Daily Prophet used in the films and I loved the design of them so much I kept hold of some of the spare prints. When it came to thinking about what to do for the movie challenge I really wanted to transfer them onto my nails somehow. With the assistance of my dad and the photocopier, we managed to get the print to the appropriate size to use on the nail. The quality of a couple of the original images wasn't great but ..it's newspaper! It's meant to be all dotty close up, right?
I painted the nails with two coats of Snow Me White by Sinful Colors then used Listerine (thanks again +Magali Neuville-Bisceglia for the advice!) to transfer the images from the paper to the nail. At some stage I'll update the tutorial section to include this in a much more straight forward way.
Finished off with Seche Vite top coat and.. yey, Daily Prophet nails!
