31 Day Challenge - Tribal Print

To start off with I found this challenge really difficult. I sort-of cheated last year by using nail foils but I decided to go with freehand this year. Firstly, I'd never hand painted a tribal'ish design before and secondly I had no idea what pattern to do. I had a look at Google images for some inspiration then started doodling on my thumb. Showed my step-mum and she suggested adding in some more colour, which it really needed. So, I scrubbed off the design on the thumb and set to doodling a new set. Lines, chevrons and dots seemed the best way to go. For most of the lines I used the black polish with the long thin brush and dragged it carefully up and along the nail. For the finer detail I used a very very fine, short haired nail art brush (from The Works - art section) along with a Barry M nail art pen. It might be very amateur but this has now become one of my favourite sets :).
